Recreational Pilot Licence
For the pilot who flies for fun

May hire Bunbury Aero Club aircraft or fly one's own aircraft

May carry 1 passenger

May only fly within 46km of departure aerodrome

May only fly during the daytime

Must be at least 16 years old

Must hold a Class 2 aviation medical

Maximum aircraft weight at take off is 1500kg

Endorsements available to expand flying capabilities

1 Theory exam & flight test required

Minimum 25 hours to complete
Private Pilot Licence
For the recreational pilot flying larger aircraft, more passengers, further from home

May carry multiple passengers

May hire Bunbury Aero Club aircraft or fly one's own aircraft

Fly in uncontrolled & controlled airspace anywhere in Australia

Endorsements Available to expand flying capabilities

Must be at least 17 years old
-
Must hold a Class 2 aviation medical

Maximum aircraft weight at take off is 5700kg
-
1 Theory exam & flight test required
-
Minimum 40 hours to complete (RPL hours included)
Commercial Pilot Licence
For the pilot seeking a career in aviation

May earn income from flying duties
-
Fly in uncontrolled & controlled airspace anywhere in Australia

Must be at least 18 years old

Must hold a Class 1 aviation medical

Endorsements available to expand flying capabilities

7 Theory exams & flight test

Minimum 200 hours to complete
